Allen Dickinson is an accomplished writer and editor. After serving twenty-three years in the U.S. Navy, he obtained a Master's Degree before venturing into the civilian world where he was instrumental in founding several businesses. He retired in 2006, moved to Costa Rica, and presently serves as the Editor-in-Chief for an English language periodical dedicated to those who have relocated to the Central American country. A long-time friend of Ryan Piercy, he collaborated with him in telling his story of kidnap, fear, and betrayal. He shares his tropical home with his wife, two children, two grandchildren, and two cats.

For two decades Ryan Piercy was a renowned expert in Relocation and Retirement to Costa Rica. Having graduated in European Hospitality Administration with honors, his own relocation to the country in the 90`s led to this intriguing career. He has written numerous articles and papers on Costa Rica, assisted thousands of couples in their move, as well as served as an advocate for the foreign community many times over. Currently he lives a peaceful life in the rural countryside.
